Back From The Dead Episode 014 (14th October 2004)

This week I remember being very excited about receiving a certain white-label demo 12″ in the post, that thankfully arrived on the same day as this show. See if you can guess which one it was 😉

The giddy anticipation, that divine combination smell of cardboard and glue as you rip into the package, that strange static energy on the records as you lift them out for the first time, the thick, dizzying aroma of vinyl. And most of all the feeling as you lift the needle to play it for the first time that you are one of the first people in the world to own to own the tune, that it hadn’t been pirated out months before on P2P, that is was still something special, almost sacred.

There are just some things that the digital revolution can never improve on.
