Back From The Dead Episode 149 (3rd September 2012)

Broadcast four days after episode 150 in the end so not too bad an overlap, really. One of the rare times I couldn’t be around the for broadcast on Afterhours FM though! Once I can remember being away on a training course for work and suffering from faulty wifi in the hotel on the one day I needed it, forcing me to tracklist the show via text messages to the ever-reliable Phil Metcalfe! Other than that I think I’ve managed to make them all apart from this one!

This time, however, both Phil, I, and various others of the Defcon massive were on a boat in Ibiza. Having already ticked the “DJ in Ibiza” box at the Driftwood pre-party, we were then treated to an epic boat party off San Antonio Bay. The seas, however, were rather rough, making dancing a little tricky, but what we hadn’t counted on was the effect it would have on headliner Giuseppe Ottaviani. He was taken ill as a result, and with about ten minutes notice, James and I were asked to step in and duly obliged!

Playing a sunset set in Ibiza to a sell-out boat-party is certainly an experience to behold (as is trying to mix on rough seas!) but as excuses for missing a live broadcast go, it’s going to be a hard one to top!
